Unparalleled Quality through Routine Testing
Weighing is a critical yet particularly challenging process in the rough mining environment and there is a high risk of unsatisfactory product quality if balances and scales do not deliver accurate weighing results. Periodic calibration, performed by authorized technicians and combined with routine user testing is a cost efficient way to ensure peak quality.
Ore Assays and Laboratory Weighing Applications
| | CarePacs® are the ideal solution for testing the micro-, analytical- and precision balances used during initial ore assay procedures and for general weighing applications with a maximum capacity of up to 8 kg. CarePacs provide cost savings straight away as they only contain two weights - the perfect solution for safe and accurate weighing processes between manufacturer-performed calibrations. For precision balances with a maximum capacity of higher than 8 kg, two single weights are recommended for routine testing.

| | Alternatively, Premium Line Weights are the preferred choice for highly sophisticated calibration purposes. They are made of the finest high-grade stainless steel melted in a vacuum. The one piece (monobloc) design guarantees long term stability. Basic Line weights are mainly used for routine balance testing performed by customers. The economical design with an adjusting cavity is very competitively priced making it the perfect solution for smaller budgets.

Preparation for Metal Assays
| | Precision balances are mainly used for the metal assays ore preparation process step. Single weights are recommended for the routine testing of balances with a maximum load of up to several hundred kilograms. Stainless steel grip handle weights with nominal values from 1 kg to 20 kg offer convenient handling and stacking. These weights are forged instead of casted to provide the optimum long-term stability. They are the ideal solution for wash down applications in dusty and dirty environments.

Weighing ore, slabs of metal, iron pellets and copper anodes The use of weighing equipment in the rough mining environment requires heavy duty solutions. Industrial scales with a maximum capacity of up to several tons must be tested periodically to ensure faultless operation.

| | Cast iron grip handle weights with nominal values of 5 kg, 10 kg, 20 kg and 50 kg are the economical solution for general testing purposes. They have a two-component coating to protect against corrosion, scratches and mechanical abrasion.

| | To avoid manual handling operations, the design of cast iron heavy capacity weights offers 360º lifting options by forklifts, cranes and hoists. These weights are tested and certified for safety purposes at Empa, a Swiss Federal Laboratory for material science and technology. Contact your local METTLER TOLEDO organization for a copy.
