Get peace of mind with positive tolerances and a lifetime guarantee.
Positive Tolerances - Unrivaled Benefits
OIML standards allow for weights to be within defined positive or negative ranges of their class. Traditional weight manufacturing with mechanical weight polishing normally targets the zero line in an attempt to achieve the best possible production yield. METTLER TOLEDO’s unique electrolytic adjustment process features fine-tuning in the upper third of the positive tolerance range. Since weights are getting lighter over the course of their use, the main benefit is obvious: A far longer life span.
Lifetime Guarantee - The Best Guarantee for the Finest Weights
Our unique adjustment process allows us to give the best possible guarantee to our customers. We are convinced that our weights are world-class, which is why we have enhanced our Signature line with the “Stay-in-Tolerance” lifetime guarantee. Should a weight fall out of tolerance at any point in the life cycle, we will replace it free of charge.
Vacuum Melted Steel - Highest Material Purity
Careful sourcing of raw material stands at the very beginning of the manufacturing process. For the Signature Line, only the best, vacuum melted stainless steel is good enough. Melting under vacuum ensures a consistently high quality by reducing undesired trace elements, removing dissolved gases and improving oxide cleanliness.
Electrolytic Polishing Best Surface - Roughness

In traditional weight manufacturing, mechanical polishing is the last process step prior to cleaning and calibration. To achieve a far superior result and an unmatched surface quality, METTLER TOLEDO is using an electrolytic adjustment process. By immersing the weight into a computer controlled electrolytic bath, smallest amounts of material is being taken off the weight, reducing the actual microscopic surface. Thus, the oxide layer is more compact, resulting in improved stability of the weight value.
Calibration by Robots - Lowest Uncertainty Values
Substantial investments in cutting-edge robot technology combined with decades of experience have opened up a new field in weight calibration. Computer-controlled processes eliminate any human errors and lead to consistent and reproducible results with low uncertainty values.
Made in Switzerland - A Solid Reputation and Solid Products
The “Swiss Made” label enjoys a solid reputation throughout the world. "Swiss Made" stands for a concept of quality that has been forged over centuries. For Signature Line weights, this includes the technical quality such as accuracy, reliability, and longevity, as well as soft quality factors such as outstanding customer service. It covers both traditional manufacturing and new technologies (electrolytic polishing).
