Plastkov a.s. is a Tier 1 supplier of molded plastic parts and plastic modules consisting of several molded parts for car manufacturers. It is certified according to ISO/TS 16949 and its customers don’t tolerate errors. The preassembled modules are delivered directly to the assembly line of customers without any entry check. Faults at this stage can be very expensive for Plastkov and its customers. It would also result in a time-consuming complaint process, in which the supplier must explain why the fault occurred and what measures are being taken to prevent it from happening again.

Tier 1, 2 and 3 suppliers are therefore obligated to check all parts before shipment. These quality control procedures and tests require a lot of manpower and are time-consuming. Scales from METTLER TOLEDO are an economical and ideal solution in such situations. Each part tested can be documented with lot ID, date and time in using a printer or sending the data to a computer. Calibration and documentation is much easier to perform for a scale than for an optical or mechanical device. The calibration of a scale is traceable according to national standards.
