Determine Ash or Moisture Fast Thanks to User Guidance

With the new One Click™ Loss on Drying determining residual ash or moisture content using the standard loss on drying procedure becomes a straight forward process. Comprehensive user guidance and automatic calculation and documentation, makes this procedure more time and cost efficient. In addition samples can be traced at all times.
Residue on Ignition is a Loss on Drying procedure which involves burning the sample and determining the residual ash. This procedure is used to ascertain the presence of undesirable contaminants, such as minerals, dust or rust in petroleum products, and determines its suitability for a given application.

Both procedures are time consuming and require much care to ensure samples are identified correctly and to record all results without error.

The new One Click™ Loss on Drying application, powered by LabX, is easily adaptable for determining Residue on Ignition and offers a significantly easier and worry-free process.

The new application, which consists of LabX software and a balance with relevant accessories, addresses three critical control points:
  1. No manual transcription is required. The lab technician enters the number of samples and barcode labels are automatically printed which can be simply stuck onto the containers for moisture determination or used against a reference list of container IDs for determining ash. After pre-conditioning in the drying oven, a barcode reader uniquely identifies each container and all weight results are automatically recorded.
  2. Handling the samples is easy. Due to the unique identification, weighing the samples both before and after drying is greatly simplified. The order in which each sample is weighed is of no importance as One Click™ Loss on Drying ensures all weights are correctly logged against the corresponding container ID.
  3. All calculations are performed automatically. One Click™ Loss on Drying determines the percentage of moisture or ash for each sample and results can be printed out at any time in a customized report to meet documentation requirements.
The whole process is easy and error-free with a high potential to make great savings in time and money. All results are stored securely and full user guidance is provided on the balance to ensure SOPs are followed exactly. LabX even ensures balance tests have been performed in order to provide an even higher level of process security. New workflows can be created in LabX to exactly match individual weighing processes. Easily integrated with LIMS or other internal systems, One Click™ Loss on Drying really does offer a comprehensive solution.
