Perform with Ergonomically Designed Checkweighers

Manual checkweighing is a common repetitive task in the food industry. Standard bench scale solutions require constant high attention which leads to increased errors and to early tiring of the operator’s eyes. Performing with ergonomically designed checkweighers not only enhances operator’s health and satisfaction, it also speeds up production and reduces cost.

In food production manual portioning and checkweighing is a common procedure to control production and make sure customers receive the exact amount of product indicated on the label.

But if employees are checkweighing several hours a day, factors such as fast and reliable weighing results, optimized process speed and ergonomics should be a critical part of scale purchase. Other important quality factors are a hygienic design, robustness or data traceability. Ergonomically designed checkweighers are adapted to these requirements and accelerate the weighing process.

Perform with Ergonomically Designed Checkweighers

Increased performance with manual checkweighers
Dedicated ISC food scales can individually be configured to the working place and offer a comfortable and fast checkweighing procedure with different special helping functions such as the ‘autotare” functionality or the “take way mode”.

Autotare mode
Working in the autotare mode means that the weight of the empty container is tarred without any key stokes. Autotare functionality in combination with colorWeight® helps the operator to

  • minimize eye strains
  • be faster since less single key-strokes are required.

Take away mode

Once activated it allows the operator to place the bulk product in a tray on the scale and to directly take out handfuls or scopes of product for portioning of packages with a pre-defined target weight. If the portion is within the predefined tolerance range the scale resets automatically.

Working with the “Take away mode” provides

  • fast and accurate portioning

In combination with further ergonomic considerations dedicated manual checkweighers lead to

  • reduced employee downtime
  • faster process speed
  • higher throughput rates
  • less product giveaway
