In an effort to upgrade their technology, UPM Pharmaceuticals required a system that would allow raw material, lot and batch numbers to be printed on a ticket with the time and date and that would automatically prompt operators with detailed work instructions and provide complete control of their inventory. The new system would also need to contain 21 CFR, Part 11 compliant functions. UPM also wanted to put all of its recipes into the system and schedule the production process with the software.

An Accurate Inventory Guaranteed
By fully implementing the FormWeigh.Net software inside their laboratories, UPM Pharmaceuticals is able to manage its inventory resourcefully and accurately from the moment it receives the raw material to the moment it becomes a finished product heading to the clinic or marketplace. While using only the FormWeigh.Net software, UPM Pharmaceuticals can now receive raw materials from its suppliers, quarantine the material until a quality group approves it, and later release the material to production status.

The FormWeigh.Net system allows UPM Pharmaceuticals to weigh, control and track raw materials, package goods, and finished products using integrated scales, barcode scanners and thermal transfer printers in a wireless or wired networking environment. Also with the user-friendly ID30 wash-down, touch screen PC terminal, FormWeigh.Net prompts the operator for quantities of materials including detailed work instructions throughout the weighing process. Finally the workstation is wireless and portable and it can be moved to different sites as desired.

In the heavily regulated world of drug development, FormWeigh.Net makes sure that UPM Pharmaceuticals is 21 CFR, Part 11 compliant by providing audit trails, electronic signatures and device identification within the confines of a user-friendly, password-protected workstation.
