METTLER TOLEDO has launched a new Software Support Program for the UC3 line – with immediate effect, retailers can enter a software service contract for their high-end scales. This contract covers the continual maintenance of device software and all modules.
Participation in the Software Support Program brings retailers two key benefits:
1.) For the duration of the contract, they receive all software updates for the UC3 application and its additional modules provided by METTLER TOLEDO.
2.) For the duration of the contract, they receive regular functional upgrades from METTLER TOLEDO, which expand the scope of the UC3 application.
Customised software distribution
The provision of updates and upgrades will be determined on a customer-specific basis:
Retailers who currently have a service contract via InTouch Remote Services from METTLER TOLEDO will receive the software packages within the framework of the “Software Deployment” service module and can define for themselves when and for which end devices the software is to be used.
Customers who do not yet use InTouch Remote Services can choose whether to store the updates and upgrades on one of their company servers or on a portable storage medium. In both cases, software installation is then the responsibility of the customer.
Short response times guaranteed
“By entering a software support contract, our customers have the security of knowing that their UC3 software is always right up to date. They are the first to benefit from all new functions and improvements – and ensure the long-term future viability of their scales through regular updates”, explains Stephan Boch, Service Marketing Manager at METTLER TOLEDO.
Regular new functions
In addition, METTLER TOLEDO regularly provides functional add-ons to customers who currently have a software support contract. Product manager Klaus Weber estimates that in future there will be two or three "major releases" each year, each of which will contain up to ten new functions. “We are continuously developing new features for our UC3 line. In future, we will use the Software Support Program to provide these functions to all customers with a software support contract free of charge.”
Innovative energy-saving mode
One of the first of these additional functions to be distributed in this way is an innovative energy-saving mode, which allows the retailer to automatically dim the display of their UC3 scales at certain times, as well as a new configuration function, which enables very convenient programming of fixed touchscreen keys.
Efficient trouble-shooting
The software service contract has a third key selling point – as part of the Software Support Program, METTLER TOLEDO guarantee retailers that all reported software errors will be viewed, analysed and dealt with immediately.

The support contracts with a fixed duration of 12 months are now available from the METTLER TOLEDO sales department. The price for software support is calculated per UC3 line scales in use and is dependent on the model of scales, the software used and any additional modules.
