Robust and flexible stainless steel floor scales

The food industry places stringent requirements on a floor scale. The key needs are outstanding metrological characteristics, a high level of corrosion resistance and continuous use in damp and wet environments. Metrology and Robustness

For the best match with the weighing process, weight ranges of 300–3000 kg are available. The resolution of the weighing platform can be selected according to the weighing application. There is a choice of 1× 3000e up to 1× 6000e. The robust and warp-resistant design, linked to high quality stainless steel load cells and the installation frame (optional), help the weighing platform to achieve outstanding metrological features. The load cells are protected by integrated overload stops and also contribute to the long life of the product, as does the robustly sized frame.

Corrosion Resistance and Simple Cleaning

The basic models of the PFA579 weighing platforms are manufactured in V2A (AISI304) stainless steel. If aggressive or corrosive substances are used, we offer the weighing platform, load plate and relevant accessories in V4A (AISI316Ti) stainless steel. The corrosion resistance is further improved by a ground surface with an Ra value of <1 μm and possible contamination, e.g. by bacteria, is reduced. The IP68 protected electronics have optimum shielding from water and dust penetration and this enables regular, intensive cleaning.

Adaptability

The basic product range of the PFA579 floor scales extends over 5 standard sizes and 3 free size areas – choose between sizes from 700 × 400 mm up to 2000 × 1500 mm. Using product options and accessories, the scales can be individually configured and extended. There are miscellaneous possibilities available for you to do this, e.g.:

Surface properties: The surfaces of the load plate or approach ramp can be selected in a smooth design (Ra<8 μm) or as a ground surface (Ra<1 μm). In addition a slide-resistant, fluted surface is available.
Type of Installation:
- Pit installation: the fully pre-assembled pit frame minimizes the installation time. Set the pit frame in concrete insert the scales – finished. No alignment or inconvenient height adjustment necessary.
- Floor surface installation: using the installation frame and the integrated leveling device, the installation can be carried out in the shortest possible time. Approach ramps can be inserted and simply removed for cleaning purposes.
