ADPO offers services such as stainless steel filling lines for pails, drums and IBCs. ADPO recently expanded their existing infrastructure with a highly automated system for the storage and handling of chemicals and petrochemicals to better serve their customers.

Minimize product losses during the filling process
At ADPO, a system fills 100 barrels per hour. To increase efficiency, the IND780 Weighing Indicator and 300 kg high-precision floor scales are in use. This drum-filling solution from METTLER TOLEDO is highly accurate, ensures fast material transfer and allows tracking and tracing of each drum. ADPO benefited by minimizing handling time, decreasing the risk of errors and product losses, thus reducing process costs and maximizing productivity.

Semi-automatic drum filling

Typical customer requirements:

  • Two semi-automatic filling and weighing stations for 200 kg drums
  • Label printing
  • Pre-defined filling operation:
    1. Drum is placed manually on the floor scale underneath the filling lance
    2. Weighing indicator (IND780) automatically sends tare value to the PLC via analog output
    3. On tare value input, PLC starts filling process by controlling the fast and slow feed valves
    4. When target weight is reached, PLC closes valves and sends a print request for label printing with time & date & weight value
