Influence of Thermal History on the Melting Behavior of Fibers

Highly oriented fibers are often used for mechanically demanding applications such as fishing lines, paragliders, trampolines, and equipment for water and climbing sports. For the same weight, they often have a tensile strength of up to 15 times greater than steel and 40% greater than aramid fibers. They are also not subject to salt water corrosion.

Guilty or Not Guilty, Justice is Served with XP205 Semi-Microbalance

The independent Forensic Scientific Service (FND) of the State Police in St. Gallen, Switzerland conducts analytical and forensic tests with the aim of detecting proof of suspected crimes such as the illegal possession of drugs. As samples are generally available in powder form and in rather small quantities, an XP205 semi-microbalance was the customer’s solution to assist in their delicate weighing tasks.

Premium quality at Secco thanks to a METTLER TOLEDO density meter

Shanghai Secco Petrochemical Co., Ltd. is a joint venture by China National Petroleum Corporation, China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation and BP Chemical East China Investment Co., Ltd. Advancing Flow Assurance Research - In-situ Particle Measurement

Flow assurance is a serious issue in oil recovery and transport. Extremely costly problems can arise due to the presence of particles and droplets such as gas hydrates, waxes, asphaltenes, and water-oil emulsions. METTLER TOLEDO Lasentec® technology directly measures particles and droplets in oil in order to understand the conditions leading to flow restriction and support the testing of potential solutions.

Volatile Compounds in Resins with Halogen Moisture Analyzer

Asian Paints, the Indian market leader for paints, attempts to increase the solid content in paint formulations thereby decreasing the need for solvents. New resins need developing to ensure the performance of such high-solids paints. Halogen moisture analyzers from METTLER TOLEDO ease the research work as they quickly and accurately determine the volatile contents in resins with reproducible results.

Better Base Numbers Through Fast Conductometric Titration

In theory, the measurement of the lubricant acid or base number by titration is straightforward. In practice, however, it is a challenging task. Improved result speed, consistency and repeatability can be achieved by conductometric titration according to the IP400 standard. The new Excellence T70 enables users to benefit from the advantages of this standard determination.
